Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 31, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how MD to Text handles information when you use our website, including our analytics services and any future advertising services.
Scope and local conversion
Markdown conversion is designed to run in your browser. We do not intentionally send the Markdown text or output you paste into the converter to our servers to perform a conversion. Your browser may keep drafts, preferences, or editor state in local storage when you use a feature that saves them.
Local browser storage remains on your device until you clear it in the site or browser settings. We do not have access to that local storage. Do not enter passwords, private keys, financial information, medical information, or other highly sensitive content into an online tool unless you have independently assessed the risks of every active third-party service.
Information collected by analytics services
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site performs and is used. These services may collect or receive technical and usage information, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, approximate location derived from IP address, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, performance data, and interaction signals such as clicks, scrolling, and page navigation. Microsoft Clarity may also provide aggregated heatmaps or session-replay-style interaction reports.
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may use cookies, similar technologies, and online identifiers to distinguish browsers or sessions. We use this information to measure traffic, diagnose errors, improve usability and performance, understand which content is useful, and protect the site from abuse. We do not use analytics data to intentionally identify you by name. Microsoft's handling of this data is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, tags, and similar technologies for analytics, security, preferences, and measurement. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect site preferences or measurement controls.
Google AdSense is not currently loaded for ad serving on this site. If we enable Google AdSense or another advertising provider in the future, that provider and its partners may read or write cookies, use web beacons or similar technologies, and process IP addresses, device identifiers, browser information, and ad-interaction data. They may use this information to deliver and measure ads, limit how often an ad is shown, prevent fraud and invalid traffic, and, where permitted, personalize advertising. This advertising data is separate from the Markdown conversion process.
Before enabling AdSense, we will keep this notice current and provide any consent choices required by applicable law. You can learn more about Google's data practices in the Google Privacy Policy and the Google's information about data use on partner sites.
How we share information
We do not sell your Markdown conversion input or output. Information collected through Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and any future advertising provider is processed by those providers under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information where necessary to comply with law, enforce our rights, protect users, or address security and fraud risks.
Third-party links
This site may link to third-party websites, tools, or documentation. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies and practices. We are not responsible for third-party content, cookies, or data handling after you leave MD to Text. Review the third party's policy before providing information to it.
Retention
We do not retain Markdown conversion input or output as a server-side conversion record. Browser storage remains until you delete it or your browser removes it. Analytics, Clarity, and future advertising data are retained by their respective providers according to their configured retention settings and published policies; we do not keep a separate copy of that provider-level data. If you email us, we retain the information you provide for up to 24 months after the last communication, unless a longer period is needed to resolve a dispute, meet a legal obligation, or protect the service.
Your choices and policy changes
You can clear local browser storage, manage or block cookies in your browser, and use provider controls such as Google's ad settings where available. We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
